Light under stairs

First trip completed in the new whitehawk 28dsbh. Noticed last night a small amber light under the stairs at the main door. Any idea which outdoor switch should control it. I tried both the awning LED light and the switch for the amber light on the drivers side. Neither lights it up. Just looking to see which switch should be on to start the troubleshooting. Thanks

On my Jayflight this light works with the other amber outside light. Did you confirm that it has a good bulb in it?

Mine works with the awning light, but really not much help that way. I am actually thinking of a way to wire it to a separate switch. That light is needed when the awning light is off; when it's on, there is plenty of light from above to light up the stairs. I haven't really figured out the reasoning for wiring it that way.

Bulb is good. I agree the light seems unnecessary connected to the same switch as the LED light. Gonna go see the dealer for the official answer and then maybe see about another modification. If anyone has ideas for a separate switch

I just noticed the same light under the stairs on our new trailer this past weekend. Ours comes on with the switch by the door that also turns on the amber light under the awning.

I'll bet it's wired with the awning light. I doubt it's the switch (the awning light works). Send an e-mail to Jayco with your VIN and ask which switch controls it. My guess is it's a wiring problem, may be as simple as the connectors at the light itself.

As a side note I found where my two tie into one another and will be snaking a separate wire and switch to isolate them. Why they did it this way is beyond me. I have no amber porch light only the step lights and awning which have to both be on which you clearly do not need.

I'll post some pics when I get it done in the coming weeks.

Mine is wired with the running lights of the trailer. Seems kind of pointless to me, being wired with the outdoor light seems like a better option.
