Question pup never had DC, I want to add it-how?

How do I add/install/wire a new battery for DC power?

I am thinking about buying a 2000 Jayco Eagle series 10UD pup. The owner says he bought camper new in 2000 and never had a battery for it. I looked up the owners manual and it says:

"All Jayco folding camping trailers are pre-wired to accept an auxiliary battery if so desired. The battery must be hooked up directly to the red (positive) and white (negative) wires on the trailer hitch, harness and frame using nothing less than 10 gauge wires." That was found here:

https://www.jayco.com/files/download...lename_117.pdf

Do I splice into the red and white wires? As simple as that? Also, affordable place to buy battery box, bracket, etc...?

There should be two ring terminals up front. They may have been tucked away by the previous owner.

only wires for flat 4 pin are visible

The only wires I saw were going to a connector that the 4-pin connector came out of. I wonder if there is some connector that would split into the 4-pin and into the two rings for a battery? I will go take another look to see if they are tucked away. I looked once, but will look again.

Do you see a panel with fuses and circuit breakers?

Yes, I saw the panel inside but did not open it. I have not bought this camper yet so I do not have access to it. I attached some photos of the only wires I see coming out of the camper. The heavy red wire coming from the camper is unused so I assume that is the positive for the battery.

Yes, buying it today. I cannot believe what a seller's market it is for pop ups in Minnesota this summer. MOST people asking above NADA price -- some by 2k above range!

This is a great way to start and learn and get the kids away from ipads and screens. They are 10, 12, 14.

Plan to buy Carefree Awning, install battery, replace sink fixture, lube bearings.
