At those kind of prices, it will be a long time before I switch over to lithium ion batteries. I can buy and wear out a lot of GC2 batteries and still come out ahead.

I'm sure in time, the prices will come down to where most of us can afford them. One of the best things about the L-I batteries is their very light weight.

My last set of T105's lasted just short of 9 years and my new set is 4 months old. It will be a LONG TIME for any lithium ion is in my future.

Same with me Ed. I kept one unit 10 years and never replaced batteries. Last unit was only 2 years old when we traded up to current 5th wheeler. This rig is now 5 years old and batteries are still good. Keep the water checked and plugged in when not traveling. There is a lot of parasitic drain on the batteries in these newer rigs so I doubt I will get 10 years this time, but we will see.

Add a SOLAR panel for keeping the batteries charged and you will be all set, and of course continue your maintenance routine. You will be good to go!!!

Good news for people who only had the choice of Battle Born in this price range.
There are other brands out there but they are even more expensive.

I Googled trojan trillium and came up with 1069 for 110ah from solarbiz. Not sure if it real but it being advertised that way. If these come down about 50% they might start to be worth it to me. I just put 4 interstate 6 v batteries these are 220ah batteries so after losing 1/2 by pairing two together and 50% useable ah I have about 220 ah available for a cost of $ 625. I would be willing to spend a grand for 200amps if I did not have to worry about overly discharging the batteries, being able to seal up the compartment to reduce corrosion and freeing up 125 lbs. But at four times the cost it is too high to justify.

I called Solarbiz, they don't have the Trojans in stock. I called Trojan, they couldn't be bothered to answer the phone, and nobody's called me back after leaving a message on their customer service line.

According to the YouTube video from Trojan - "designed and engineered in the USA", I'm guessing these are made oversees, not manufactured in the USA.

Every LiFePO4 battery thread has the price comparison... we get it, you feel lead acid is a better value for you. For those of us that want LiFePO4, we feel the long term cost of ownership and other features represent a better value.

I have 2 Battle Born's, they're awesome. Just joined the thread because I'm interested in other offerings. I'm going to add another 200 Ah this spring. So far, not impressed with Trojan, BB appears to be the better choice.

I bought mine from GSL Energy out of China (they make only LiFePo4) for $423 each plus shipping. I had to contact customer support after 7 months for one battery that the BMS turned off, they had me do tests and send photo's, said it was bad (the BMS), so are shipping a new SET of batteries because they have upgraded the BMS and they can't mix with old batteries. The new ones have built in LED readouts for voltage and capacity. So I am not only getting new batteries free, but I get to keep the one good one. And to add to that I dis-assembled the bad BMS (cut the case to remove the cell pack) and after some work found a cold solder joint, and after fixing that the cell pack and BMS is working fine. I will order a new case kit from them to re-assemble the battery and I will have an extra set of 100AH batteries. The CS could not have been better, I was so happy I ordered a third battery (was going to anyway) and am modifying the battery tray to accommodate it.

I like Trojan batteries. I'm currently running two T-145s on my trailer and am pleased with their performance. I'm planning to switch to four Lithium batteries in the next year and have been eyeing the Battle Born since they are the leaders in lithium and offer a 10 warranty. Currently the Trillium is slightly higher than the Battle Born ($1070 vs $949) while offering pretty much the same features (built-in BMS, etc.) and capacity (100aH vs 110aH). I couldn't find the Trojan warranty but I suspect it's 3 years like most of the other companies. (BTW, Battle Born batteries are actually 120aH. They list them as 100aH with the capability of a 100% discharge.)

I think for me it was amount of available power for the same amount of battery space, as well as the much reduced recharge time. We boondock a lot, and I have always needed more battery capacity, but no room for more batteries. With the LiFePo4's I get 40% more capacity from the same space, with half the recharge time on solar. And now that I have rebuilt the battery tray for a third battery (only able to do so because of the reduced weight) I will have plenty of power.

@SmackIt, Glad to hear you are pleased with your Battle Born batteries. At 31 lbs each, I plan to mount 4 on the A-frame of our trailer in an aluminum or stainless steel tool box. The weight, with box, will be equal to the 2 existing T-145s. BTW, when you decide to buy 2 more check out Brian Boone on Facebook. He's an RV solar system installer and has teamed with Battle Born. When you mention his name you get a $50 rebate on each battery.

Hi, is that 100% DOD listed in the spec's? Most all LiFePo4 batteries have the BMS set to turn off the output at about 10% DOD give or take. If the battery sits totally dead for any length of time the cells can be damaged. Mine are set for 10% according to the spec's, but that is still so much better than flooded.
