My 33RBTS is a 22 and it has a light in the pass through storage. It's not easy to see as it's on the curbside and on the exterior wall so you have to reach around to find it. That "box" you are talking about is the wiring for the Jay Smart lighting system that flashes your side marker lights when you activate your turn signals.

If you want to add additional lighting to the pass through I would grab any source you can find from the bedroom above the storage. I wouldn't use the Jay smart wiring behind that box.

Just a thought. I put battery operated “ puck” lights in my storage areas. Amazon has them with remote control. They are attached with two sided tape. I added mine a couple of years ago and still using the original battery’s.

x2 on the battery lights for a storage area. I can't remember the last time I actually used the light in my pass-through. Why go through the hassle of wiring for something that you may only use once in a while.

I agree with the battery puck lights. Make sure to get the LED ones, some places are selling both types. Battery life is great, I get 2 or 3 years out of one with light usage.

Jayco will send you wiring diagrams and schematics if you ask them. Here's a contact form for towables: https://www.jayco.com/contact-towable-service/
