My understanding is that the E-torque system only adds power when the Hemi is operating below 1200 rpm or so. I had seen a "dyno" graph at one point that showed the power curve difference between and etorque and non-etorque hemi and it basically only had a benefit below 1200 RPM. Above that and power was the same.
This leads me to believe the the eitorque is really just a glorified start-stop assist. It basically helps the truck get going from a stop when the engine has shut off(to save fuel) without having a delay while the engine is starting back up. I believe the etorque acts as the started so once the engine is up to speed they probably just start spraying fuel and spark again and it drives off smoothly.
