Air bags and Anderson WDH

Hi everyone,
I finally put bags on my truck. What I’m wondering or trying to get my head wrapped around is, can I back off the WDH some since I have the bags?
I’m running 8 threads showing.
Haven’t hooked up yet since I got the bags installed.

No... well maybe. They perform different jobs. Bags just increase the rear spring preload so it sits higher. Weight distribution hitches distribute (duh) weight to the outer axles for stability.

I don’t have bags on my truck, so take this FWIW… I raise my TT tongue jack up to put slack on the Andersen chains and easily hook up the triangle plate to the hitch. If the bags raise the rear end of your TV, I’d think that would do the same thing?? In that case, you’re going to need to tighten those nuts on the compression bushings to remove the slack.

One of the functions of having tension on the chains it to make the sway control work by getting the proper friction. If your chains aren't putting enough force on the ball then there is no point to have a WDH or expect any sway control from the Andersen.

If the air bags lift the rear they don't really restore weight to the front axle for braking and steering control in an emergency
