Andersen underslung bracket

When I Googled the topic I think one of the hits was from this forum, for somebody who had Andersen make a custom bracket and suggested they make one available. They did, but I already had mine installed before I knew this. You can order an Andersen WDH with the underslung bracket if you order directly from Andersen; I haven't seen anyone else selling a kit that way, and they don't list it either, but you can call and order the right part. In my case I spent the $140 for the bracket by itself. Installed today, and the picture shows it with the normal bracket laid against for perspective. You can likely visualize the angle the chain would be on, and there is no way it would move freely in the bracket.

Andersen may actually show that kit on the website now (cant order it on the website though, have to call ). Will call them and verify it has the correct trailer brackets with the correct angle.
If you use the "check compatibility" feature , there is a question that asks "Is the coupler on your trailer underslung" .
In my case the 3350 generally comes up as the correct kit , UNLESS I use the check compatibility feature . If I choose YES to underslung hitch , the kit I need comes up as a 3350D recommended . If I choose NO to underslung hitch , I get the 3350 recommended .

Perhaps the "D" means they are using the correct brackets for the underslung style hitch ?

I think you mentioned the underslung brackets are part #3359XTD . They are shown on Andersens website . On the 3350 kit , the standard brackets are 3359. The brackets for the underslung 3350D hitch look to be the 3359XTD . I presume the XT = extended , and perhaps the D = drop hitch ? Just a guess.

I will call and see if the 3350D kit includes the 3359XTD brackets .........

O.K. just an FYI .
I did check with Andersen today, and the yes, the 3350D kit, includes the 3359XTD brackets for underslung trailer hitches . The 3350 kit includes the standard non-underslung trailer hitch brackets .

It appears the "D" designation , does include the extended drop brackets (XTD) .

Looks like I will be ordering the 3350D for my Jay Feather Micro 166FBS .
Its 629.95 plus shipping directly through Andersen ........which is the only way to get this "special order" weight dist. kit .
