Ford Maverick Hybrid
Did a search and didn’t see much on this truck. Flat towable and great gas mileage. Considering getting one. Anyone have one?

They seem to be a nice little vehicle and are obviously in high demand. A friend of mine from work placed an order as soon as the 2023 slots opened back in early fall. Still hasn't received a vin or order progress report.

I used to have a Ford Maverick. 4 door, white, 1974 model. Back when they were cars, not trucks. LOL

Don't own one myself but, I do work at a Ford dealer. Haven't heard anything bad yet.

We tow a 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid with a Jayco Greyhawk 30. Working fine. Mileage does not go onto the odometer. We use the Ready Brute tow bar with the fully mechanical braking system for its simplicity and doesn't need 12 volts.

I haven't heard anything bad yet. I wanted to order one but got tired of waiting and wasn't going to pay $10-15K over list for a "used" one.

Got lucky and found a guy that got his a week ago. He ended up getting a Tesla and sold me his. Awesome truck. Got 42 mpg driving it home!

There's one a work - owner says it's a good driver. He was driving a caddy, so must be decent LOL.

The front disks on my 67 Falcon race car came off a 74 Mav. Rotors, calipers, spindles and all.

The magic I'm hoping for is as the EV is being towed the batteries are being charged by the movement. Not quite free charging but close.

Our experience with a 2014 Fusion Hybrid would be "no", unless they did something special on the truck. They do have regenerative braking, which is pretty fun in its self. You learn to lightly drag those brakes and watch the energy go back into the battery pack. Wind it up to about 80 and start braking for your exit about half a mile before.

Probably in the future but not now. The hybrid gets its best mileage in the city driving.

The 2014 Fusion got 38 MPG average all around. Including running 80 down the freeway with the AC on full blast. Great car, zero resale value. I would haul butt too.

I ordered mine back in September when the ordering window opened up and I just received my VIN and date of March 20th manufacture date. I’m excited and from the research I have done tows like a dream. I also have priced out the equipment and install and it looks like it may be between 4 & 5 K all in. It’s about $2,600 in parts (per e-trailer) and another 1,500 to 2,500 install based on who does it. You can also save money if you are handy and can wrench a bit.

I installed my base plate from ETrailer myself. I already have the blue ox set up I used on my CRV. I’m using the rvi brake system which is portable. There is a step by step video installing the base plate on Etrailer which is awesome.
