Modern Suburban/Yukon XL payload #'s

Does anyone have a modern Suburban/Yukon XL 4x4 (2018 or 2019) that could share some payload and/or axle ratings?

Thanks in advance

I peeked at a late model (year unknown) earlier this week, had about 1450# cargo capacity. Owner plans on towing a work trailer who has a snack & bread route for to grocery stores, etc. No other specs on vehicle known.

Thanks. My wife is kicking around a large SUV as a replacement for her Ram. Just want to get a little info since this is something she is considering.

One thing to keep in mind is that the actual payload will change depending on the drive configuration and the trim package. So my 2013 Yukon XL Denali AWD has a slightly lower payload than a similar year with only two wheel drive and a lower (non-Denali) trim package.

We've been looking at Yukons lately (2018 models), and this number seems right to my knowledge. Though I haven't actually looked at any stickers with my own eyes yet.

Of course, as others have mentioned, the sticker(s) will give you the real numbers. But between my research and my dad's 2015 Suburban, again, that 1400ish lbs looks about right depending on specific options.

Honestly I was a little disappointed in the numbers I've found, but I guess GM doesn't expect these vehicles to tow/haul all that much?

There is a large void in the auto industry for large SUVs that can tow and perform in a truck like fashion. The Excursion and the 3/4 ton Suburban were perfect examples and it's a shame you can't get them anymore... Families/groups of 6+ people that like to trailer camp are very common. Whatever is available out there right now for that kind of space/seating doesn't have enough payload to both haul and tow anything significant.

Might research the Ford Expedition, they advertise a 9K towing capacity and show 3 row seating with some big people in the 3rd row in the television ad. Just a suggestion.

Thanks. We will take a look at them. Thankfully, she isn't in any hurry. So, we have lots of time to research.

I saw a guy using a full-sized Nissan van on our last trip out. He had quite a bit of gear, and quite a large trailer. I have no idea on the weights, but it stands to reason that with a full-size van, you'd be hard pressed to run out of payload. But I don't know what kind of towing capability they have (transmission and rear-end would likely be determining factors).

We actually already have a full size passenger van, a 2015 Sprinter 2500. If I remember correctly, the payload capacity is in the 2600# range give or take. On paper, the towing capacity for it is listed at 5000#. I've pulled our Feather a couple of times locally with it, and though it has plenty of capability to move it and stop it, it handles just terribly. I equate it to driving a 40' billboard down the road. You definitely feel every little gust of wind or passing vehicle.

I will take a look at the Nissan unit. From what I remember about them, they are on a full frame and a much lower profile than something like the Sprinter. It might be a much more stable platform while offering similar interior space. I believe Quigley 4x4 offers conversions for them also.

Thanks for the idea. You've got me thinking. I'Il let you know what I find out.

This is the van he had; Nissan NV:

I just briefly poked through, but payload seems to be in the 2700-2800 lb range. Towing capacity is somewhat low at like 6200 lbs? Again, that's just taking an initial stab and looking briefly at the website. Biggest motor I saw was the 5.6L V-8. Probably the same one they've been using forever...
