New Tundra /WDH/Sway control advice
We bought our 23RL the first of April and the end of April I totaled my 2016 Tundra 4.6L V8. We'd already added the EZ Hitch Round Bar hitch and an electronic brake controller to the original TV.
Thankfully, no one was badly injured! However, now I have a 2018 Tundra 5.7LV8 with 4WD. We are taking it to the local Camping World who have graciously agreed to "readjust" my hitch to the new truck at no additional charge. I know that my new truck has an EBC built in, and has some sway control. However, I'm not sure what else I need to add. Any suggestions or information would be MOST appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I'm no expert but it sounds like there will be nothing to add.
Does the WDH have any kind of sway control?

Nice...what is the cargo capacity of your new Tundra ? Off the door jamb.. I know 4WD lowers your capacity and I'm interesting in a new Tundra..

Caution for loading the trailer. With most cargo storage areas in the front of trailers to much cargo in the front of the RV will increase the sway action when towing. If possible put heavy objects in the truck. Always try to load the rear of the RV and leave liter objects to the front cargo area.

...... As long as the TT's loaded tongue weight falls within 10% to 15% (ideally 13% to 15%) of the it's gross loaded weight .

Too little tongue weight will cause sway issues.

Loading too much on the front WILL NOT cause sway issues. Too much in the rear WILL cause sway issues (i.e. too little toungue weight)
Only issue with too much younger weoght is payload on the vehicle.

I LOVE IT!!! The 4.6L V8 pulled my Jayfeather 23RL...the new 5.7L V8 PULLLLLSSSS it! LOL! Super easy, super smooth! Having the tow/haul mode sure makes a difference in the RPMs. Went from about 7000 lbs. towing capacity to 10K. I cannot recommend Tundra enough. My husband drives one, my son drives one, and this is my second. We pull a 3 horse slant horse trailer, loaded with horses and don't worry at all.

I would add a visit to your local CAT Scale for a weight-in under loaded TV/TT conditions. The CAT will provide all the weight information you need plus confirm that your WDH is sized and adjusted correctly.
Many RV dealerships fail at adjusting a WDH correctly, others may get your WDH adjustment in the ballpark.
CAT Scale how-to: https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...v-tt-3871.html
The CAT scale results will allow you to optimize the performance of the WDH. If you RV dealership hasn't yet, ask for the complete installation/adjustment documentation for your brand/model WDH.
