ProPride hitch issue

Anyone experience and issue with the hitch box staying to one side after a turn? When I make turns in the city and than go straight the box will stay to one side or the other and will not come back in straight alignment which causes the tow vehicle to pull to that side. I also merged on to the freeway the other day and the box stayed partially to the side and was not moving side to side which caused bad trailer sway to the point I had to pull over. Picture attached of the freeway issue. Nothing is hanging up and no noise indicating problem. This hitch was part of the used Jayco 29 BHS I purchased. Talked with Propride who suggested a rebuild given the age, about 10 years old. Anyone have any experience or thoughts?

That must have been a early model. Have you talked with Sean at Pro Pride about the cost and why it would do that?
He is good to work with.

Although I don't have any hands on experience, I have been studying this hitch for over 10 years, pretty much since it came out. I'm wondering if it is a lubrication issue in the bearings. I could see how they would lock in place pretty easily if they were dry or pitted.

I would check the trailer axles for misalignment if the hitch pivots freely without binding. Another thing to check is the hitch’s frame support. Did it shift to one side?

Spoke with Brent who advised to replace bearings on the hitch. Did a lot of reading and biggest issue was the alignment of the center bracket. Adjusted that and it's way better. Still going to the side a little but hoping after bearing replacement it will be good.

Paps718 - I know this is an old post but I am very interested in the outcome of your issue. I also have the side skew with my Propride and Brent suggested I adjust the Yoke centering bracket. My hitch is 3 months old so hopefully no bearing problems and my Yoke may be off center by 1/8" at best. I'm going to try to adjust the bracket and see what happens. My offset seems to always be to the drivers side and I haven't experienced any sway issues to date but I've only towed with it 4 times so far. Wouldn't even know it was an issue if it weren't for my nosey backup camera

I went back through my setup and meassured center bracket. Found it off center. Once I adjusted and torqued all bolts I've had no issues.

Glad you got it worked out, question, did the yoke Move freely by hand when not attached to the trailer?
