Tires Cupping

Have OEM tires on my truck still..about 35000 miles on them. Noticed some cupping on the front tires,,,a little shimmmy and shaking. I am terrible about rotating my tires. Is there anything I can do to prevent this cupping? Also what tires do you recommend? Thanks!!

Shocks may/are worn out, broken, leaking, etc. The shocks are supposed to keep the tire/wheel combo in contact with the road surface, and a weak or broken shock will allow it to bounce down the road, causing the cupping. New shock(s) may stop the progression of the cupping but cannot reverse it. Should replace shocks in pairs at a minimum.

I have GY Wrangler on my F150 (new truck) and like 'em so far, Cooper makes a good tire. All depends on your style of driving, paved or off road????

Is it 4Wd or 2WD? Either way, you need new tires, an alignment and absolutely you need to do the tire rotations.

I have never had a tire that didn't cup somewhat. My Cooper's don't do it as bad but then I try to keep them rotated. Ive learned that the softer the rubber the more the cupping. I used to run off-road mud tires on previous trucks and found the softer rubber tires cupped quicker. Good shocks, good springs, didn't matter for me. Nature of the tire and sometimes tire pressure

I have Cooper Discoverer AT3s and I’m very happy with them. I’d buy them again. They are quiet and handle very well.

As for cupping, I can’t be of any help as I haven’t had that problem.

Don't replace the tires till you have taken your truck into a good front end shop.. you will just ruin another set of tires
