Exactly what does the integrated sway control on the new trucks include? Is it just a motion device that is attached to apply the trailer brakes, or does it include other things in that integrated sway control package?

If the vehicle is towing a trailer and the system detects that the trailer is swaying, the vehicle brakes are applied without the driver pressing the brake pedal. If the vehicle is equipped with the Integrated Trailer Brake Control (ITBC) system, StabiliTrak may also apply the trailer brakes.

It seems to me, applying only the TV brakes is the wrong thing to do. It will make the sway event worse. During a sway event, the proper reaction is to apply only the trailer brakes. Hopefully, the OEM system does the proper thing.
