Wow! The Seneca must have a lot of pulling power! Good deal.

Any help would be appreciated.

We bought a 2008 Honda CRV and had it equipped with the Blue Ox package and the same brake controller as mentioned in another response. Works well. But..............you cannot backup if you get in a jam Need to unhook, etc I too have the Redhawk 24B. A real beast. considering going back to a trailer at the end of the year.
The nice thing about pulling the toad is that it tracks within the same footprint as the RV as opposed to pulling a trailer where you experience "off-track" like a tractor trailer. The cost for the product and set up was a bit over $5K. Ouch. And we now have an extra car that cost $7500. But you really need something to get around when you are camped in a location for a few days. good luck

I have had both the engine and transmission up graded and it pulls just fine on the hill of BC anyway

We have a 2013 CRV we tow behind our 2019 Greyhawk 29MV. Towed it behind a 2014 Thor Bunkhouse ( a miserable motorhome, couldn't wait to afford to get rid of it).

Easy To Tow

2021 Chevy Equinox. Check out the owners manual section on flat towing. No problem ever.

Just watch when your out what is towed….. I think you will see jeep wranglers a lot as the dingy. Very easy to tow, not over the 5,000 pound tow maximum. You can flat tow easily, we do……..

In the past, we towed a 2020 Nissan Versa manual shift. We now tow a 2019 Ford Ranger FX4.

The reason for switching had nothing to do with the qualities of the Nissan Versa. The manual shift Versa, IMHO, is an excellent vehicle to tow plus when sightseeing sans RV, we were getting 43MPG.
The Ranger, being a bit heavier, is also a great vehicle to tow and gives you more options if you need to travel "off road" during your sightseeing or need some extra storage space.
RV gas mileage was pretty much a wash towing either vehicle...I think the MPG difference was a negative 0.5-1.0 MPG., so 9.5-10MPG is what I measured in the RV, towing the Ranger.

Thanjs Stu. Our search is still ongoing unfortunately. It sounds as though the Versa has good mileage and room for a run around dinghy. Appreciate your time.

We started off with a Wrangler, 2 dr. then 4 dr. It was the DW's daily driver. She liked the Wranglers but started having trouble getting in and out of it. We now tow a Grand Cherokee (wk2) and she loves it. It handles and rides great. You just have to make sure you get the Quadratrac 2 4x4 so it can be flat towed. We use the same Blue Ox tow bar we used with our Wranglers, just had to have a different base plate for the car.

We have a 2018 Alante 29S. I’m getting ready to set up my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 regular cab 4wd as a toad. Curb weight 4660lbs. Planning on getting NSA tow bar with ready brake built in to connect them.

It's so interesting all the vehiclescthat appear to be dinghy worthy. Thank you all for your replies. I'm sure there arecothers considering which to get . The guide for approved dinghy vehicles has been so reduced over the last 15 years!

Be careful. A vehicle may be listed, like a Mini Cooper, but that listing is only for manual shift transmission. If automatic transmission, not approved and would destroy it. Jeeps are made on purpose for flat tow. Manual or automatic. So, be careful with what you buy.

Yes, we're mindful of the manual tranny. Our 1st dinghy was a Rav4 about 15vyears ago. It was wonderful to drive, but had its drawbacks in the seating.

Thanks for your reply!
