Electric Stabilizer

Has anyone upgraded their scissor jack to the electric stabilizer jacks.

Any recommendations on what you have used?

No. But I went from electric stabilizers to manual because now they never fail. One thing that surprised me was the expense of electric stabilizers.

Why did you switch? I figure they be better and just so much faster. My X23b moves a lot and I was reading with the electric jacks it will eliminate the movement and make it more solid

+1

When I had my trailer, I swore up and down if those electric stabs ever died, I would replace with scissor jacks. They never failed, and we sold the trailer recently, so I never got the chance to follow through on my threat.

They weren't particularly fast, they weren't particularly good either. I found the best things I could do to reduce movement in my trailer were to put some kind of jack "midship" (just in front of the axle) and X-chocks between the tires.

My plan was to replace all 4 corners with scissor jacks, and install another set in the middle (total 6 stabilizers). With my rechargeable drill (which I carried all the time anyway), I could get all the jacks down faster than the power jacks, AND have a more stable setup. And they're A LOT cheaper than the electric ones too.

On that x23b I would add a set right between the steps and the front tire if that's possible.

Also, I was going to use high capacity jacks, but you also risk twisting the frame if they're not all even. If you crank one down too hard, it could lift that corner (and the higher capacity jack would have the strength to do it easily) and twist things up. I wouldn't worry about that though in my case, I know to just snug them down.
