Norcold fridge not working on ac. Trips house gfci

So my Norcold 611lt fridge works great on propane but on ac power it starts up and will trip the gfci shore power outlet in about 5 mins. I checked the heating element ohms are 45. Any idea what I should check next?

Try this. Pull the two wires off of the PCB that go to the heating element. Turn on the refrigerator and test voltage at the two connections where the heating element was connected for voltage. Give it the 5 minutes or so and see if the gfci has tripped. If not, it is the element, if yes, it is the PCB.
Hope this makes sense.

Perfect will do. Makes sense. If gfci doesn’t trip it’s the element and if it does it’s the pcb. Usually takes 10 mins or so for it to trip. Relay on the board clicks away. Thanks!

So I unplugged the heating element and shore power never tripped. I made up an adapter and plugged the heating element right into the 120 outlet for the fridge and it tripped after about 10 mins once it seemed to heat up. Going to check the amperage just out of curiosity. Ordering a new heating element and will further test issue if need be.

So, the heating element was shorting out when it got hot enough. Happy you figured it out! Best wishes, Kevin
