1 full season of camping and it's still painful to unlatch.

I'm waiting for this spring/summer for the 'easier to unlatch' thing....

Had our X23F for 4 days, tried to open it yesterday and today, and it's stuck tight. I don't even know what I'm supposed to do to open it. Do the little latches slide vertically, or do I lift up and out, or what? I can't find anything in any of the books on how to get it open, and gave up for fear of busting it.

Push up on the tab and outwards a little to unsnap the tab. It should unsnap the flap. Repeat on second one. It ain't easy. One of mine has been broke since first trip.

They push VERY hard. The tabs are part of the vent that swings open so when the tabs release, they'll move outward a small amount. There is no 'clicking' or other sound you might expect a plastic latch might make and I don't feel any kind of latch releasing.

I just keep pushing up VERY hard on both at the same time... harder... harder... WHAT the latch moved outward a bit. Oh, the vent is open.

I did that twice and never shut the vent after that. Just too hard on my thumbs to release the latches.

I don't know why these have to seal like a submarine hatch. I often think that it would be great if there were a push arm at the oven, like that one on the emergency exit window, to open and close this vent. I always worry about leaving it open when towing as a friend had hers go missing during a trip.
Not only is it difficult to unlatch, but being 5'7" its a stretch even reaching mine on my 5th wheel.

We just picked up our first trailer, a 2016 X23B, this week. During the walk through, the only out of the ordinary thing we found was the outside snap shut lid was stuck. The tech and I screwed with it for about 5 minutes before we finally got it to open. He was even prying on it pretty hard with screwdrivers trying to open it up. Eventually, we got it open, then open and closed it a couple times to be sure it worked ok (still really stiff). It almost seemed like it was glued or sealed shut and we had to pop it free? So, we took it home thin king we were fine now since we got it working.

Fast forward a couple days, and we set the trailer up in the driveway, and when I went to open up the vent flap, and sure enough one of the clips snapped off and the lid is still stuck. I don't know if whatever it was originally sticking to took hold again, or if it is just a really stiff flap when new???

I'm not too worried about the break as I know they'll fix it under warranty and Camping World is only 10-15 min away. Hopefully they can replace just the flap and not have to cut all the sealant out to replace the entire assembly.

I'm curious if others have problems with this flap, or if there is a trick to getting them open that we weren't doing correctly? Or, is this just a random problem with our trailer?
One of our clips broke off too after about a year, it was also hard to open. I think it was installed crooked. The other clip worked as it should.

I got mine open today!! Thank you all for your help! I really had to push, but wasn't so afraid of breaking it as I was before reading this. Thanks!
