We just love our "X-Box" but after 2,500 miles one of the tires on our 2012 X17Z is splitting near the rim. So we will have to replace at least that one tire. However, I am very seriously considering putting on 14 inch rims & tires. My local Les Schwab has the rims but not D rated tires, but will mount the tires if I bring them in. I know this issue has been the subject of posts in the past, and my take is that this change is do-able, and many seem to think it is helpful. So I am wondering if anyone can identify a source (I guess it would be online) for reliable 14 inch 8 ply trailer tires. Thanks.

When I had to upgrade my tires I went for 14" Goodyear Marathon ST C-rated tires on nice American Racing alloy rims. Worked great and increased the tire capacity to slightly more than the axle rating.
I just purchased two ST185/80 D; 1710 lb capacity; 13" Hi-Runs from Tucker Tires, Phoenix. I expect they also have 14".
This is my second set and have had no problems.

Look at the Kuhmo 857 and Hankook RA series tires just put the Kuhmo 857 195 on my X17Z. Both are 8ply radials they run so much cooler. Check out my thread on here. X17Z # 10 dexter axle lift kit, there are pics of my modifications on there.
