Washing my 165RB Swift SLX

I'm getting ready to wash and clean my TT. It has a painted ribbed metal body. What is the recommended or preferred way to clean the outside of this camper?

Wash and wax it pretty much the same as you would a car. I use Meguier's car soap on mine, followed by my favorite brand of wax.

You could use something like Dawn dishwashing detergent if you needed a little more cleaning power, although Dawn will tend to strip off whatever wax you have on there. A more mild detergent for cars will be less likely to remove your existing wax.

On some of the outside plastic surfaces, I like to use 303 protectant.

I agree that you wash like a car. I use a strong spray of water to dislodge any grit.

I use a very soft car wash brush on a pole. I take especial care on the decals to avoid damage or start them peeling off.

I use a wash and wax in one soap. On the front I use an application of car wax.

I use McGuires car wash with wax. I never hand wax it as I hate the job. I have a carwash brush with a long extension handle.

If there is black streaks or a lot of suicidal bugs on the front cap, I like to pre treat with "Spray Power". You can just watch the crude just slide off.

Whatever does the job.. Sometimes car wash and wax works.. Sometimes we have had to apply paint thinner to it to get the chip seal tar off the diamond plate as it sometimes hardens.. ( this in Alaska) We don't usually pressure wash it either but after some thousand miles of dirt road and mud travel we have had to pressure wash the bottom and especially the undercarriage.

Start gentle then get aggressive.
