x17z storage question

Just picked up a 2014 x17z and being there is much less storage than my previous hybrid. I was wondering where you would store utensils and silverware since there are no drawers on the front of the kitchen area. Thanks for any info.

I liked the 17Z’s size, but what kept us from buying it was the lack of storage. When we discussed it, all the stuff that would stay in the unit all the time would have to go into the OHC and everything else like our cloths would be in duffle bags tossed on the beds during the day, and on then on dinette at night.

I have looked at the floor plans but not too closely at the unit since we bought our 23B. There might be a false panel under the J-Sofa that can be removed for stashing items too. In our 23B I removed that panel and we store our shoes there.

By the way congratulations on your new HTT and on your first post!

This is why we chose the EXP21M hibrid, there's space for 4 drawers.Click image for larger version

Thanks for the response. My last hybrid had lots of storage but we had the mini bathroom and the wife always complained so I am loosing storage for a full bathroom.

I bought small covered boxes at Walmart. One holds silverware and another holds misc. Kitchen items. After adding shelves to the cabinets the kiychen stuff goes above the sink. More shelves and dishes and cups go above the sofa.

We use 3 plastic containers (knives, forks, spoons) and store them above the sink in a overhead cabinet.

We use those small plastic shoeboxes for our silverware and store them under the sink.

BTW, there is a lot of space in the 17Z that is hidden. I pulled out the false wall under the sink and extended the shelf there. Also, I openned up that covered cubby above the CD player. We store our headwear in that area.

I recommend you visit the "mods" area of the board and search for 17Z modifications. Pretty neat stuff people come up with.

Don't miss the sewer hose mod!

Joe

Where do you find those drawers? Our X20e has lots of storage but no drawers. I'd love to convert one of our cabinets to have drawers like this.
