Exterior speakers

Looks like one of my exterior/outdoor speakers on my 5er has gone bad. Anyone have to replace theirs? Where did you purchase the replacements. I assume it would need to be weather/water proof?

Thanks,

Any marine type speaker will work. It will depend on the look/match the other speaker. Your dealer/Jayco may be able to replace.

My kids picked up some of those BLUETOOTH wireless speakers and I am amazed of the quality these things have. We carry those along with us now and very seldom switch to the mounted outside speakers.

WALMART carries them... Also AMAZON has a hugh listing for them...

Did not think of marine/boat speakers...

Did a search on Walmart and they sell quite a few of them. Will take some measurements and go from there.

Thanks,

I am assuming you are not using the radio inside your RV to connect to the blue tooth speakers?

Yes, You'll want marine speakers that are weather proof. You can try what Arkhillbilly suggests and contact the dealer to try to replace just the bad one , or replace the pair with something else.
Did you check for a loose connection? It could just be a speaker wire.

If you decide to upgrade and replace with something a bit better, JBL makes some decent all weather speakers that should mount right where the current ones are mounted. Amazon has a pretty good price on them.

JBL offers many choices for outdoor marine/rv applications
Check out the JBL website.

The speaker still works, just sounds like the cone is bad/ripped. I did look at it though and could see where one of the cones is in pieces. I have not physically taken the speaker off the RV yet.

If I replace one, might as well do both.

I replaced my interior ceiling speakers with the aforementioned JBL's.. They sound great compared to the OEM ones that came with the trailer.
