First time Resealing need help
Hey Pros. im a newbie.
I have a tube of OSI Quad, and a caulk gun and want to go over all the seals.
My camper is a 2016, and i have owned it for 1 year. prior owners resealed, but not sure what they used and i can see it is dried up and cracking.
My questions are:
Do you know what kind of sealant the prior owner used by looking at the photos?
Should i scrape away the old before resealing?
Thanks for your help!

Looks like the wrong stuff so I would get rid of it!
After being here for almost a year & a half we consider you a regular.

Thanks @Tunce the traveler
After my first season, I'm much better at backing up my trailer and dumping the waste, but i have never sealed. I'm a grocer, musician, and motorcycle enthusiast, so most things outside of that is all new and way harder than it should it be. I look here for all things camper related.

I use Proflex RV on the sides to seal the areas where the factory used a clear sealant.
On the roof I use Dicor self leveling. Don’t use Dicor self leveling on the sides.
As far as removing the old, if you can, do it but it’s hard to do without scratching the walls. If anyone know a good way to remove the clear, I’m looking for suggestions.
You are on the right track to sealing any cracks that show up. Even a small crack can cause major damage if water is allowed to get inside. Seems like many cracks happen after a trip, so when I get home, I wash the rig and carefully inspect all seams and repair where needed.

Thanks @GHen
I guess the tube of sealant i have is Dicor Lap Sealant non leveling.
Jayco lists areas to reseal
1. Trim Edges- where the roof and walls join
2. Roof items- antenna, and vents
3. Windows/ Doors
4. Storage Compartments/ Access Doors/ Wheel Wells
5. Lights- Side markers, tail lights etc.
I understand butyl tape, eternabond and self leveling caulk is used for the roof items, and if replacing or re sealing edge trim to use tape or eternabond after removing screws etc.
Is Pro Flex and OSI Quad what everyone uses for caulking/ re-sealing all the edges, windows, doors, and lights?

I have read but never used WD40 or vinegar to remove sealant if it is silicone. Spray it on and let it soak in. Should soften the silicone over time ( not sure hours or days) and then use a plastic putty knife to gently pry it loose. If it is coming loose then you can also cut it down the center of the bead to pull it off. I have done that in the bast when it lost it's bond to tile.

I have never used Proflex. I use OSI Quad. Very sticky stuff. Use painters tape to protect what you do not want it on. Cut the tip really small (you can always make it larger). Apply just a little bit. Wipe with your figure, use ultra soapy water. I think I use about a 1/4 cup of dishsoap to about a 1 cup of water. Smooth it out. Add more OSI Quad as needed. It will stick to it's self after you smoothed it out.
As for cleaning up the old caulk. Not sure what they used, but it I might try a plastic putty knife. The fiberglass wall is quite resilient to solvents, so I might try a few. My experience with OSI Quad, it sticks to anything and everything, so you might just decide to go over it.

Maybe a silly question, but I have markers and side lights that keep falling off, and if I use OSI Quad...how to I safely remove the lens to replace the light, without breaking the lens??
Thank you

I use museum putty ( just a little ) roll it to make like a small worm and break off no more than 1/2” and apply to each side. You can buy it at A hobby store or HomeDepot . It might go by another name like earthquake putty, basically it’s sticky putty that’s removable and leaves no trace.
