Heater thermostat keeps rising

My heater was acting up on my last trip I would set the thermostat to 66. Woke up to heater constantly running and thermostat set to 72. This happened 3 times throughout the the night. Any ideas where to start?

Sounds like you have low voltage or lost the 12 volt momentarily if you have a digital thermostat. They default to 72 when they lose power
