Removing Tough Debris and Scuffs on Aluminum Trailer

What do you use to polish and remove stubborn debris from your aluminum sided trailer? I was told that the aluminum is not actually painted but anodized. Can you use rubbing compounds on it? I do not want to dull or remove the color. I have lots of experience with cars and trucks, but I have zero experience with buffing, polishing and removing tough debris and scuffs from aluminum trailers.

... don't have any experience with aluminum siding, but here is a link I found:

It could be just expensive rubbing coumpound, or maybe it is a specialized product. It will be interesting to see what works; please post resolution.
