Tv Antenna stiff

My tv antenna is so hard to put up I broke the handle. Is there a place that I can lube it or is in need of a replacement? It is a 2008 antenna.

There is indeed a procedure to lube it. I did it a few years ago to ours, even though we don't have a tv inside. Just to keep the o-rings from drying out. I can't remember it it's in the generic Jayco manual, or if I had a Winegard manual to look at.

I remember using spray silicone, perhaps into a hole that's got a plastic or rubber plug in it. If no one else speaks up, I'll get into it tomorrow and find where I saw it.

Yes, there is a rubber plug in the base. I lube mine with silicone spray, I also spray a little on all moving joints.

I have never put any silicone spray on this ever. Thank you very much for the information.

Just pop the small rubber plug on the base of the antenna on the roof and give it a squirt of silicone. Another squirt on the swivel mechanism and you are good until next year.

If that will not free it up I will get a new worm gear. The replacement handle is $12.00 so I can get parts.
When I went on the roof to do this I ordered roof coating. One more job I can’t get done.
