I just plugged mine into one of the existing 12V dash outlets and laid the box on the dash. So, yeah, dead simple.
With the one I linked, you could get just about as extravagant as you want for mounting options I guess.
I didn't want to attach mine to the dash because mine didn't really come set up to do that, and I didn't want to put screws in the dash. I would use adhesive tape, but again, I didn't want to do anything permanent. Plus adhesives don't do all that well in our TX climate. Plus, I can use it for other things in other vehicles if I need to.
Really in my case, it's little more than an extension cord with a few more options.
