Hi would I know if there is a water filter on my unit?

I checked under both sinks and don't see one there. All i see is pex tubing.

IF i don't have one, is an external one the only way to add one?

Had a '08 GH 31ss, the water filter was under the kitchen sink, but up high and against the outside wall. Need a 3-4 yr old sized person to get to it. I installed the filler pipe and used a filter at the faucet going forward.
