2015 Ford E450

I don't know where to ask this question, so here goes. I am going to use a tow dolly w/electric brakes. I have a brake controller that I would to use. Now for the big question, Where is the pig tail located in the truck to connect the brake controller. I have called Jayco and Ford. Both say the pig tail is tapped up by the steering column. NO! Has anyone found it on the new 2015 trucks? Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with your rig but most Ford's have an in dash Brake controller so an add on one is not needed. If not they are usually mounted under the steering column and tied into the wiring harness there. My Nissan Titan was that way. Took awhile to stop bumping into it.

Just a thought... Maybe it's time to stop by the Ford dealer or whoever sold/rented you the dolly or brake controller and have them pull down the harness.

Or call a FORD dealer with the vin# and have them look it up. Also don't be surprised if it is actually a 2014 chassis that is titled as a 2015, that is very common to class "C"s.

My 2015 Redhawk actually has a 2014 E450. I understand that the 2015 E450 have drastic changes, including new and much smaller engines, and I believe aluminum bodies.

I have tried to get the info from my dealer and FMC. Ford said the they ask Jayco to mount it next to the steering column, but Ford said sometimes they hide it somewhere under the dash. MY last chance is to try Jayco service tech. It is a 2015 truck built in Oct. 2014. It is a stripped chassis with no bells and whistles. Someone on the net said it is mounted behind the coin holder on the dash. Before I remove coin holder, I would like to know for sure.

The harness on my e450 was behind the change holder on the top of the dash. That is where the factory brake controller would go. I needed a special adapter harness to attach the cable to my p3.

OK, out comes the coin holder. Just as soon as it gets above 20*F. Going to get down in the single numbers tonight.
