2017 31DS shower will not drain

My shower will not drain unless I leave the gray water valve open. Is there a vent that may not be working?

Thanks

What about the other drains? My have a clog in vent pipe you could take a hose a flush down the vent on roof see if that helps.Of course you may have to remove the rain cap.

Seems like the rest of the drains are draining fine.

Send a message via Skype™ to ALJO
Remove the trap and see of it is clogged.

That is an odd failure mode. If it was a vent problem, it would seem like another sink drain would plug except that perhaps water volume in sink may allow for an air gap. Otherwise, I would argue for a local "plugged" trap or something. Maybe try a couple of tests.
1) Put a high volume of water down your sink drain (fill sink then pull plug) and see if you get normal draining or if you see some "burping" as it goes down (vent issue)
2) Put water down shower drain at low volume and see if it backs up. If not, then I would say it is a vent issue. If it backs up a low volume, then it must be plugged in some way, but that doesn't explain why opening the valve cures the problem (which points to the vent).

Sorry....can't think of any other way to trouble shoot it. If it is the vent from the shower drain to the main vent....I have no idea how to snake that out as there may be multiple "Y" connectors. Might have to cut the pipe...clear it out....then glue it together with a slip joint.

One last trick (might be messy) is to put a garden hose in the drain with a rag over it and turn it on....but who knows where the water will come out.

Your 2017 should still be under the Jayco 2 year manufacturers warranty. Have you contacted an authorized Jayco dealer?

Try the old toilet plunger with some hot water.

I dunno - it is weird, but is sure sounds like a venting issue. Any blockage and it wouldn't drain at all.

Weird...
Good luck!

One other thing to check is the AAV air admittance valve under the sink. Give it a tap and see if that helps.

Here as one of many threads on it: https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...ink-29110.html

Another problem we have is the shower drain will often clog under the small grate with hair. Lift it up and use a Zippy to remove it.
