Angry 2018 Greyhawk Front seats peeling

We purchased our 2018 Greyhawk 29M with full body paint new 4 years ago. It is a beautiful looking coach that is meticulously kept and garaged when not in use. However, the passenger front seat (used much less than the driver's seat) is starting to peel and looks like crap. The seats looked great when new, but the cheap leather-like material they used to cover them is junk! Anyone else having this problem?

I have not. Not sure why yours might be having that issue. There are replacement seats available. A search will bring up some options.

Have the seats reupholstered with genuine leather. This is much less than new seats.

Or. you might get lucky and find leather seat covers already made.

Yes.

The peeling is a common and well-discussed problem shared by a lot of us.

If you do let the rest of us know because there appears to be nothing available for the captain seats at least from what many of us found.

I have not found anything, which was why I suggested having them reupholstered with real leather. There are very good shops in central Florida that do this, as well in the Dallas Texas area, two places I have had experience with.

Volumes, Jayco is certainly aware by now they're saddling buyer's with the certainty they'll be shelling out several thousand dollars in the not very far off future to reupholster anything covered with the complete garbage they're calling seat coverings. However they've done the math, the upside in profit margin gains outweigh the downsides of imaging. Normally the upholstery won't start deteriorating until the warranty has expired, so Jayco isn't on the hook for replacement. Jayco isn't going to address the problem until it's in their interest to do so, and apparently, so far that's not the case.

same happening here. I thought it was from our little dog though..

contemplating replacing the seats with something from here:
https://www.discountvantruck.com/

as the seat kills my tailbone and my wife's back. Just haven't done it yet.

Going from memory, they are aware. And I believe some here have had it addressed under warranty. Again, that's from memory. Which could be faulty.

Yes I have the same issue. I have a Jayco 2018 gray hawk 29ME. Both seats are peeling. I did purchase an extended warranty but I’m not sure this is covered.

I will be staying in the Dunellon area for a while. Could you pass along the name of a shop in Central Florida for me? Much appreciated.

Our dinette seats (2017 Redhawk) are doing the same. Interestingly, we replaced the couch with lounge chairs from Recpro and that pealed within 18 months. RecPro kindly replaced them and 12+ months later they are still looking brand new. Fake leather just doesn’t last in the environments we travel…humid, dry, hot, cold, not loke inside a house.

Ditto — the headrest area of the passenger seat is peeling as well as the back of the driver seat and the top of both cushions on the sofa. They look terrible but it’s just going to look terrible until next year when we will have all the upholstery replaced throughout with better quality material.

It’s a product called bonded leather, man made from scrap…while it looks good. Durability is terrible. You will need to reupholster..I bought bonded leather furniture and it did not last 4 years before it cracked and peeled

It’s easy to beat on Jayco for this but it’s everybody.

As in, if I'm a willing participant in something I know is wrong, but others are doing it as well, them I'm less guilty. Show me where Jayco wasn't aware there was a problem with the the seat coverings a decade ago but made a cost decision to ignore the issue and you might have a case. Besides, I have a Jayco, and the seats in my Jayco have delaminated, that's a Jayco problem. If the transmission in my brand x vehicle fails, I really don't care to hear brand x tell me "it's not our fault because brand y has transmission problems too".

Not defending them, just saying it’s not JUST them.
