29' Greyhawk Mattress Question
Just moved up to a C Class from a TT. My wife does not like the rounded corners on the mattress in the main bedroom. She would like to know from others if we can replace it with a more standard square corned mattress? She has sheets from the TT and would like to find a replacement mattress that we can use.
Thanks!!

What was the mattress size in the TT? What size sheets do you have?
Odds are very good that you have a Short Queen sized mattress in the Class C. Short Queens are NOT Queen sized. They're the width of a queen but the *length* of a FULL!
So it comes down to whether there's room at the end. A Queen sized mattress will be 6" longer than a Short Queen. If you've got six inches of room at the foot of the bed, then you can fit in a queen mattress.
[ We did not have those six inches, so we went with a very nice full sized mattress. It puts us a bit closer together but we manage. ]
If you want to stay with the Short Queen dimensions, then finding a square cornered mattress is a bit more difficult. They're out there, but most of them were mail order.

My short queen was square, but contained only crumpled newspapers or something so we replaced it with a Zinus short queen 10" also with square corners. No problems from mattress sag at the end even though the base was rounded a bit.

I did the same thing with great results. 10" Zinus mattress with a topper is the bee's knees IMO. No worries with the "square" corners for us. There's a LITTLE less clearance when I round the corner going back to my spot, but it's hardly noticeable IMO. I actually bought that mattress for my TT and moved it into my Greyhawk when we bought it.
To be fair, I never even took delivery of the OEM mattress in my Greyhawk. I had them take it out and put it in my TT I was trading in that day during the PDI. Left my Zinus at home and DW and I put it in the MH as soon as we got back from pickup. It was kind of funny; they were taking in my TT while I was doing the PDI on the Greyhawk, and the salesman walks in and says "hey, where's the mattress in your trailer?" I pointed to the back of the 29MV and said "it's back there."
Anyway, if you're talking about the 29MV (or equivalent), you really need to go with "short queen" because of clearance when you bring the slide in. There's not enough room to accommodate that extra length when you bring in the slide. And even if you could, you wouldn't have room to walk around the foot of the bed with the slide open.

We purchased a short queen memory foam matress from Amazon and made a huge difference, think it was called “happy campers” and was like $400

In our 2018 29MV Greyhawk, my wife made two bolsters. Each one is the width of the mattress and each one is about 8" in diameter. When we arrive at a CG, we extend the slide, then slide the mattress down toward the foot, then put the two bolsters in the opening between the cheap headboard and the top of the mattress, one on top of the other. Then the mattress is pushed back against the bolsters, squeezing them tight. Our pillows sit on top of the bolsters and the mattress. I am only 5'-9" but I don't like my feet hanging over the end of the bed so this cures the problem. And yes, it does narrow the space between the wardrobe and the foot of the bed by 6"-8" but it's not a big deal to us. And it didn't cost a penny.

I have the Zinus short queen 10 inch, third season and we both love it. Looking for one for house!
Buy from Zinus and you get a 100 day money back and 10 year warranty, not sure about via Amazon or Lucid warranty.

Rounded corners may be there to provide access around the bed but if the square will not interfere then you should be ok

Our Greyhawk came with a memory foam topper that we hated. Went to a local mattress store and they let us pick a mattress we liked best and then built one to the dimensions we requested. Perfect! Delivered it to us 3 days later - amazing!

A late Thank You from a new 29MV owner.

The mattress length on the 29mv is the only thing that can not be changed. When the bed room slide is closed the bed is up against the cabinet and drawers. We put a Queen Short Topper on the original mattress, this has worked out great.....

We ditched the cardboard filled Denver mattress that came with the RV for the 8" Zinus RV mattress. It's a short queen with square corners. Also have a 2" foam topper Fits great sleeps great.

My new 30 Z slide goes out the back. Mattress has those round ends but seems to be a few inches to long. When the slide closes the end pushes hard into the bathroom wall. You can see the wall actually push in.
