Air conditioner

I have a 2013 Jayco Melbourne RV and the air-conditioner is working but not blowing out cold air. It is only blowing out warmer air. It is the air conditioner that is on the roof of the RV Any suggestions are appreciated thank you

Sound like the compressor isn’t kicking in. Your hooked up to a good 30 amp Service I suppose?

Do you have a generator? If so have you tried running the generator and then switching on the air conditioner?

If that doesn’t help you may need a starting capacitor. I would check that first. If that is ok then it’s most likely your compressor.

Had same problem. Fan will run, but compressor wouldn't kick on. Check the breaker. If it is switched off, reset it.

Apparently (according to the dealer), when the A/C units go bad they pull enough starting amps to flip the breaker.

Run with generator to check with everything else turned off. If it runs with the generator, your power source is bad.

It could also mean you need the unit recharged with refrigerant. It may have a small leak and lost it. You should be able to hear the compressor kick in after a minute or two. If it does it probably has lost its charge. If it doesnt then the problem could be with the compressor or power to it. Would need further invertigation

It could be your thermostat, we had the same symptom last year, fan working without the chill. We visited the dealer and they replaced the thermostat now all is good.

We also had the same problem...fan but no cold air. It was diagnosed as a bad thermostat, which was replaced, and now everything works. Our 2018 29MV has an amp meter mounted next to the thermostat, so when the a/c compressor kicks in and the fan is running, the meter shows around 16 amps. If you are showing only 3 or 4 amps, then the compressor is not firing. The EMS we have also shows the amps we are using, so you could check that to see your draw. Our dealer's service department told us that ours was blowing 39 degree air when the compressor was on, but the coach had been in their service bay most of the morning. They said that the air from the a/c will be about 20 degrees colder than the outside temperature.
