Bauer Door Lock

I have a 2016 Grey Hawk 29ME. Twice yesterday the entry door has sprung open while traveling down the road. In both cases the door was locked with the deadbolt and was secure when I pulled on the "flapper" after locking it.

I had the dealer adjust the Bauer door lock/latch assembly when they completed the original punch list last fall. And, we have driven it over 3000 miles since then with no problem until yesterday.

The latch/lock assembly and strike plate in the door jamb all look to be fine.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Extremely concerning. Does your latch have the battery-operated external keypad? If so, the deadbolt might be retracting if there is some internal fault in the circuitry, but the actual latch still should hold the door closed until the paddle is operated. Is there any chance your door is so loose on the hinge side it can move enough to pull the latch out from the striker plate?

I would give Bauer a call and explain your issue, I have found them to be very helpful. The recently shipped me a whole new assembly (free) when the keypad quit responding on my Seneca. They even matched my existing key code since I have several sets.

Thanks! I haven't been using the keypad, but I will try it to see if it is working properly.

I moved the strike plate up out a little. It allows for a little longer throw.
