Coleman Mach-A/C works, heat pump doesn't
The electric heat in our 29MV will not come on. The ac works fine and the furnace works as well. Temps this past weekend were in the mid 50's so it should be within the operating range of the unit. The owners manual is no help. Any ideas to try and troubleshoot this would be appreciated, still several weeks of fall camping left here in the northeast.

Has it worked in the past? My last rig had that feature but the current one as no heat option in the ac unit.

What AC unit? Is it a heat pump or heat strip?

Are you getting the fan, but no heat, or nothing at all? Could be as simple as a loose wire or as serious as a bad control box.

Nothing at all. If I set the thermostat to cool, I hear a click and the ac comes on. If I set the thermostat to heat (electric) nothing happens. If I set it to heat (gas/electric) only the furnace turns on

That sounds like the thermostat.

That's what I thought. Maybe I'll try swapping the wires for the cool and heat and see if the problem moves.
If it is the thermostat I'm not sure if I would go with the same unit. I have the Airxcel 9430-3382.

That click is the thermostat internal relay. If you dont hear that on the heat side, then one of two things...either the thermostat is faulty, or the set temp is not within range to call upon heat. Since you are saying that when in gas mode, the gas turns on, I it leaves me to assume that the set temp should be calling for heat and therefore the thermostat is just faulty.

This has to be the best upgrade I've made. Before the thermostat had an error range of plus or minus 15 degrees. Now the new digital thermostat is spot on. Way more comfortable overnighting in the rv.

The thermostat in our 29MV went bad last year (it was the Cool side, not the Heat) and had to be replaced. It was under warranty, so the dealer did it, but I think the actual thermostat leaves a lot to be desired.

I have my new thermostat and plan on getting it installed tonight. I had one from a previous camper that did not have separate controls for the gas/electric option so I gave that a try. Both came on so I'm pretty sure this will take care the issue.

I have two airexel thermostats(Coleman Mach units),one in main area and one in bedroom. The main thermostat has electric heat and gas heat settings. The bedroom thermostat has only "heat" setting. The air conditioner works as designed but neither the furnace or the heat pump comes on. I have raised set point up and down when on heat but nothing happens. The "heat" indicator blinks a few times and then the display backlight turns off but nothing happens.
I think the rear unit is a heat pump but I don't have any documentation with me. Regardless something should turn on. By the way, the front unit works just fine.

How do I know whether I have a heat pump or not? 2017 NorthPoint
I bought my Northpoint 377RLBH used and don't have the invoice to show how it was equipped. I have Coleman Mach III a/c units on top. How do I know if I have a heat pump? The thermostat in the living area has a "Heat" option but doesn't say electric of gas. Thank You! Matt

Anyone have an idea on this one? I checked all the wires and there are no heater strips on either unit. Thanks
