Cover pressure on awnings

I noticed the RV cover rubs on the awnings when its windy causing the plastic to make noise. Does anyone think the pressure from the cover can damage the awnings? What can be done to prevent damage? Unable to attach a video of the cover rubbing against the large awning on the passenger side.

I do not know about the awning but will mess up the paint if it rubs enough

Do you mean the paint on the awning encasement?
The RV cover is a very soft 3-ply and does not damage rv body paint.

I have a 31SS Greyhawk I used a cover with the soft inside it still rubbed the paint, wax brought it back. I think they all will damage paint if they are loose enough for the wind to blow around. I ended up warping rope around the entire coach to hold the cover tight enough, it eventually did tear thru two corners of the cover.

Our cover did rub some of the paint off the awning at a few spots at the top of the awning. No mechanical damage to the awning, just rubbed off some paint/dye.

We used a cover many years ago... it had the soft flannel liner that was not supposed to damage paint or yada...yada...yada... We thought that it would keep the snow and Ice out of the AC units and protect the rig...

Well... we have not covered it since that time many years ago. It did not withstand the winter. CW did not honor the warranty either when we brought back the torn cover because they claimed that it had too much snow on it, which it did have 3-4 inches.

When it tore, it flapped back and forth for a day or two before we discovered it - scratched up the outside in a couple of places - learned a very important lesson in the end. I hope you don't have the same results we did.

Watch it carefully, check it every day if you can. If it snows a lot, get the snow off the top after each snow-storm. Make sure the straps that go under the trailer are snug, but not overly tight. Don't start the Genny or Motorhome engines while under the cover.

oh... and in the spring, if you don't pull it off in early spring - watch out for Hornets Nests when you take the cover off!

While putting the cover on the motorhome, it caught on the sharp corner of the solar panel on the roof and made a nice big V-shaped tear on the section that covers the solar panel on the roof. Very upsetting. Tried taping up with duct tape and gorilla tape, but both didn’t hold. The gorilla tape completely lifted off in one piece while some of the duct tape still stuck. Can you recommend a way to patch the tear so it doesn’t sweat? There was moisture underneath cover where tape had been.
