Do I need jacks ?

Now I post on the Jayco site but am looking at an Entegra 26D. There are more users on the Jayco site.
I think the 26d is about 28ft long. I also was considering a 24B.

Now on the 24B I don't think I need the jacks, but if I switch to a 26D are they needed??? Not sure what the Jayco model is that is equivalent to the 26D but I'm sure there is one.

Some come with them and some don't.

Thanks
jim

When you say “jacks” are you referring to the stabilizer jacks?

I thought at first, I would need them. But, I don't see the need at this point. When we set up, I use portable lego blocks to level. Only takes a few minutes. Once set, I don't notice enough rocking in the rig to justify jacks.

I have been using wooden blocks but might prefer the legos. Unfortunately a I keep reading reviews of them breaking even with a class C. I know our rig is small but any signs of cracking? Which brand do you own/recommend?

I bought two 10 packs of Lynx Levelers. They seem to be really flexible, I've seen them bend and twist a little, but no sign of breakage or cracking. So far so good.

I've only gone three high so far (most sites have been pretty level), and they have worked out fine.

Auto Jacks on a 24B or 26D

I was posting about the auto jacks that are a 3800.00 option on these units.
I feel I do not need them on a 24B but maybe on a 26D.

LaMesa RV ordered all the 24B's that they have with jacks. Not many other dealers did.
Sales people tell me that are good to have and will add resale.

You're referring to auto leveling system?

We have a Redhawk 26xd. Ordered it with the hydraulic leveling system. After years of leveling previous RVs with blocks in all kinds of weather, I decided to treat myself to luxury item. I really like them for ease of set-up. They also eliminate almost all movement of the motorhome from walking around inside. So, for my money, well worthwhile.

However, I am having a problem with the hydraulic system leaking. It's going back to the dealer this week for their second attempt at fixing it. It's still under warranty, so I hope they can correct it.
