I like to try to max out under 300 miles per day. With that said, I think my longest day was just under 700 miles in about 16 hours. We only stopped for food and fuel! That was driving highway 2 across North Dakota.

We follow these guidelines: Travel days, we try to stick to a maximum 6 - 7 hours. Moving days, no more than 4 - 5 hours. We have done a few 7 hour days but they are not enjoyable. We also try never to arrive anywhere at night if possible, and if so, it has to be an RV park not a campground. Our longest days are usually the first few days of a trip where we need to travel longer distances and don't want to just overnight. FYI: For trip planning Alexa or the Google equivalent are excellent. We just ask, how long does it take to get to "x." It has cut our trip planning time by 1/3 easily.

We follow the 2-2-2 rule
About 200-250 Miles a day
Off the road by 2:00 pm
Stay 2 nights when we can

I go by hours and will do 8 - 10 hours.
However, I do plan stops within that time frame and also plan my overnight stop as well based on potential miles covered during that time..
If going around Baltimore-Washington Beltway, I will leave about 0100 AM. never hardly had issues traveling thru there at those hours.

If we are just going camping in our RV, we will try to keep it to 300 - 400 miles a day. When we do our seasonal trip to and from Indiana to Florida we will drive until we feel tired, then pull over and eat, walk, take a short sleep, watch NetFlix, etc. until we feel rested, then hit the road again. It takes about 24 - 30 hours for the trip.

I avoid interstates like the plague. We do about 200 - 300 on US Routes and State Routes when possible. We enjoy driving the country roads and seeing the many small towns along the way.

I've taken these Routes from time to time and must say they are the most enjoyable , seinic and educational. All that's missed racing down the highway at warp speed.

We're in our late 60s and I am the only driver. 300 - 325 miles a day is our goal, but only will do this two consecutive days.

715 miles in a snowstorm was our max. We arrived home grumpy
Anything over 450 miles usually results in grumpiness.

Recreational does not mean punishment.. You get the mileage that is comfortable for you.

We’ve driven the 400+ mile days and are done with that. The 250-325 mile range is much more manageable for the DW, dog & I.

I do the same. First day we bang out a ton of hours on a 2 day haul. Traffic through major cities can really take a toll on you, so we leave before the sun gets up at 4-4:30 AM to avoid what we can. Miles are different in all parts of the US. Some areas have no highways to access, so that is why I usually look at hours over miles.

The reward for an early departure is a sit down full service breakfast 2-3hrs in for an hour to recharge. Then we eat lunch on the road in the unit. Usually by 2-3 or so we are pulling into our pre-booked site for a layover on the 2 days trips, or already setup on the one day hauls. Taking a nice hour long break on a long haul helps me tremendously with fatigue both mentally and physically. As are the passengers!

My goal is to be setup and relaxing by 4PM the latest everyday, so I just adjust my departure time accordingly.

Leaving a CG is a whole other deal and I am always dealing with traffic. Just trying to get home prior to dusk is my goal.

The DW and I like to leave the night before and pull 5 or 6 hours after we get off work, shut it down in a rest area for a few hour's rest, then run the next day as hard as the Seneca will suffer. We end up able to easily do 700-900mi in a 24hr period.

8 Driving Hours

I base plans on Driving hours. My Bride does not drive the Griswald One, so the planning is generally left to me. I try to map out my days planning for 8 hours of Drive time, probably about 400 miles or 650 kilometers. Maybe a little more if it is all highway. That usually gets me to 10 hours of transit time taking into account refuelling, lunch and rest stops. If it is a full day then I like to leave by 0700 so we arrive at the destination by 1700.

Lots of variables for us; stretch of road, weather conditions, destination (overnight or final), both driving. When we’re both driving with fair weather conditions and not a lot of major cities or traffic 500 miles is comfortable. If we’re planning multi-day travel we like to keep it more like 350-400. 200 miles seems like a dream but on our last travel day this spring we fought the weather and road conditions the entire way and were spent when we arrived at home!

Daily travel

How far I travel may very due to weather conditions. Having said that it's not uncommon for me to travel 600 to 900 miles in a day. The 5500 kodiac is so nice to drive I really don't get tired from driving all day.
