Electric screw jack for 37FS

Has anyone installed an electric screw jack to raise and lower the king size bed?

I'm 68, pretty healthy, with tender knees, weak mind and strong back, one bad shoulder. Wife is very healthy, 63, but not very big. The king size bed is a sleep number with pillows and covers. It does not have any type of air shock assist.

One person has to lift and the other has to put the rod in the bracket much like my old Tr3A. I was younger and the hood wasn't under a bed spread, blanket, and sheet all hanging down.

Okay, the wife wants to get under the bed by herself, without asking me for help. Dog is not cooperative and the cat is a cat.

I believe the FS is the only newer Seneca model that has a fixed bed platform, the other models (like my TS) have a bed that slides across a platform with the slideout. On the FS I think it would be very possible to install pneumatic lift cylinders that would make raising (and keeping it up) much easier and a one-person job. You would have to make sure the attachment points are solid enough to take the stress. Would likely involve some minor-to-moderate carpentry work. But would not require any electrical work to power a screw jack.

Here is a link to a source specializing in these systems, their customer support is reportedly very responsive to questions.

HatchLift | Hydraulic Lift Kits | Rv Hatch Lifts | Hatch Hinges

For other newer Seneca owners who have a model other than the FS, I have come up with a solution that allows for the installation of lift cylinders on our beds that slide across the platform with the slideout. Does require some fabrication of a bracket. See my prior thread here:

Bed lift

I used the 'Large' gas bed lift kit for my Seneca FS platform. Could not be more pleased with the ease and utility. The installation is complicated by the lift strut placement over the 12 volt converter that extends into the storage cavity. A fill piece and through bolted to the side.

Thank you all for the replies. I have made email request from the company listed on the hydraulic assist rods or other solutions.
