Furnace Help Needed

Furnace question. Just picked up our brand spanking new Jayco Melbourne C class. First night we set the thermostat and it worked no problem. Last night, second night, the blower comes on and it blows warm air but it makes this low rumbling noise (almost sounds like a chair being dragged across a floor). Varies from 2 seconds to 11 seconds then kicks off. After awhile I got up and had to shut it off as it was so loud no one could sleep and don’t want to damage it.

Literally only day 3 on the road with it and are supposed to be headed to Zion from Idaho.

It’s an Atwood brand furnace.

Called the service shop where we bought it and they of course are closed on the weekends.

Our guess (a shot in the dark) is a failed blower motor?

Several screws remove front and back covers. Suggest visual inspection. Since so new recommend not messing with it much and get space heaters for temporary. Many campground know the name of a mobile technician that can come to you.

X2 on doing a visual inspection. First thing that comes to my mind is some trash item in the new build process has got into the blower fan somehow.

Hopefully it is a quick fix for you guys...

I know when I got my OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer new in 2008 I found several small cleanup items missed by the inspection crew from the factory. I did several camping days in the driveway/backyard to learn all of the ins and outs with the trailer before going on my initial camping trip... Nice being close to a WALMART or LOWES store while learning what not to do haha...

Agreed with all the other posts. When we took delivery of our 2016 Greyhawk brand new from the dealer, when we ran the HVAC system, there was a crazy rattling noise coming from the vent. It was a scrap piece of aluminum duct work that was left in the system and was causing quite the noise. Dealer removed it and everything worked great. Seems dealers/factory don’t do any simple checks prior to customer pickup, so don’t always rule out the simple things. Hoping for the best!
