Green wire with copper lug on end - hanging on closed step

Just noticed a green wire with a heavy copper lug on its end, just dangling down and resting in the closed top step. It has about 10 inches of slack and looks like it was on a bolt, held on with a nut. Possibly the nut has fallen off and allowed the lug to come loose and dangle right there on the step.

Any clues?

Thanks!

Steve

2014 Red Hawk 26 foot on a Ford E-450 chassis. V-10 engine. We love this camper. It rides great, is super quiet, even sailing down the interstate. Gets OK mileage (10-11 mpg when loaded but not towing, doing 65 mph). When towing our dolly & van then we get 6-7 mpg.

Sounds like a ground wire. Try to find where it was attached to the frame, and bolt it back up.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if it was a ground wire or not.

Thanks,

Steve

Is anything not working. My is speakers are in that area but don't use chassis ground.
If there is no voltage on it, I would look to see if a chassis ground came loose and just reattach.

The SOLID GREEN COLOR is the standard color for FRAME GROUND in the RV WORLD. Hopefully you can find where it was originally connected.

May have got left unconnected from the factory...

I should have some time tomorrow afternoon so that I can scootch under there and take a look. If nothing is obvious, I will pick a spot, make sure it is clean, and then bolt it to he frame.

Everything is working as it should.

I will even try to use my iPod gizmo to take a photo.

Thanks Folks,

Steve

A green wire is an AC safety ground wire and has nothing to do with the operation of any DC or AC device.
