Greyhawk 31 DS "marine" speaker access and replacement

Picked up our Greyhawk 31 DS last fall and have done some road worthiness work over the winter and getting ready for our first trips in a few weeks. While we probably will never use the exterior speakers (which are suppose to be "Marine grade") I fired them up for the first time yesterday. Boy do they sound really bad. I took the four screws out of the speaker grill but the speaker doesn't budge from the RV. I looked at a few other posts where folks said the inner portion of the grill can be pried off, but honestly there is hardly any space between the speaker grill that is screwed into the RV and the inner circle area.

Anyone have photos of how to get access to the speakers without trashing the grill. I'd like to replace the speakers with some better sounding speakers but this is really low on the 'things to do' list.

I was just looking at my exterior speakers the other day, and mine look like they're held in place by screws and some type of adhesive/sealer. If I were to remove mine, I would try prying along the edges, after removing the 4 screws and popping off the outer cover.
