I have the L bracket with a gusset welded in the middle. Is this ok?

If you have a really good weld on the bottom and the upright, I would think it would be good. Hard to say without seeing it. Probably good if the butt weld is also intact.

Please make sure when you contact dealers to tell them that you have a TSB notice and NOT a recall. Telling them it's a recall will only confuse them and delay the process in getting it fixed.

I have a 2017 GreyHawk 31DS, and I am the second owner. Guess I'll have to call JAYCO to see if mine is affected.
Also, can new box bumpers be purchased from JAYCO directly? Tagged mine at a gas station. Luckily no fiberglass damage to coach, only badly bent bumper...Looks like unbolt old, rebolt new.....I HOPE.... Thanks

I received the letter too. I haven't looked at the mount yet but I'll reinforce as needed myself. Sadly, I don't trust my dealer to do quality work on anything...

At first when I purchased my 2019 Redhawk I was upset I did not have the equalizer leveling system. Seeing as this is my third a RV this is something I really wanted so I called up equalizer and they will install the system if I drive the RV there. This is a future upgrade I plan to do but I guess I should have The folks at equalizer check all the brackets while they’re at it. Someone tell me where exactly jayco installed/mounted all the pumps and reservoirs systems on the Redhawks? I have a 25R and plan on having a one pump system installed, want to know what compartment and how much space I will lose.

What a great forum! Because of this forum post I checked my support on our 2018 Greyhawk 29 w. It appears to be very secure. I have not received a recall notice yet and may not. We have 22,000 mi on her and over some rough terrain. Will keep a close eye on the support bracket. Thanks to all.

Service Bulletin

I also received the notice and my unit is affected. I had other issues to take care of and notified my maintenance facility of the bulletin and they knew nothing about it. I gave them the bulletin number of course they didn't have the parts. but now they are on order. When I arrived at the facility, I shared the notice I received and they were puzzled why hey hadn't heard about it. They are a Jayco authorized maintenance facility. (not a camping world).
We love our Jayco 30X and about have all the bugs worked out.

I wonder if the Ford dealer would do this instead of a jayco dealer. I hate taking it to the dealer.

Recall

I just drilled a 1/2” hole thru the bottom part of the bracket and the frame. Put in a 1” long bolt and nut, and torqued it down. Saved me 3 weeks at the dealer

That’s what I’m thinking about doing. Do you have any photos? Too bad so many owners don’t want to deal with RV service shops.

Secondretirement, I want to thank you for that photo. That's exactly what's needed. I was going to do a simple triangle about that size but they nay have a reason for that short cutoff. If any of you guys have the bracket as configured like his picture on the right, you really need to weld in some gusset's either at the dealer or have someone do it. Secondretirement, what is the thickness of the gusset's? I was thinking of using 1/8. What do you have?

Before doing anything, check what you already have....

That's a pretty clever idea. A grade 8 bolt with a big washer would be best. As long as that hole doesn't weaken the frame.

Ha! Can’t tell you thickness cause mine doesn’t have it. However, I would match the thickness of the horizontal bracket.

I checked mine out today. It's mounted like yours and appears to be very secure. It could use some paint. I have a 2016 with over 40K miles on it. I don't think it's going anywhere.

Thanks for posting that.

That's very interesting. It appears they did it right on some 2016's, but mines a 2017 and it's wrong. Hmm..appears they got a new weldor along the way maybe..?

Took our 31DS in to the dealer after we inspected the area that Jayco said may need repaired. The dealer knew of the notice and had ordered several fix parts to be on hand. Nice! The part Jayco recommended being fixed looked solid to us, but while looking at it, we discovered that there is a leak at the hydraulics for the levelers. And, the tank for the oil was only 1/4 full. So dealer is getting that done for us in 2 weeks. Our extended warranty is covering that repair Sure glad we checked that Jayco-suggested-but-already-done-properly-at-the-factory repair spot! Good on them for fixing an issue on so many Class C's!

This is really making me rethink my "need" for adding hydraulic jacks in the future.
