Had to add another item to my pre-travel check list. Took a trip to Ruidoso, NM last month and stopped at the folks along the way. Luckily I noticed the mud guard which protects the generator from debris was being rubbed by the tire. I don't recall running over anything that could have busted the guard loose. Apparently the only thing holding the metal bar/mud flap is (2) sheet metal screws. No lock washers or nuts. Not sure how you would even be able to add a nut as they screw into a 1" square tube. Best bet would be welding the plate onto the tube if capable. Anyway the head had broken off one of the screws and luckily the second screw held even though the flap was dangling around. Had to drill out the screw and luckily my dad had a replacement screw that worked. Strangely the flap bar had tabs on both sides at the bottom but they weren't screwed into anything. The one closest to the frame had nothing to screw into but I was able to screw the other tab to the inner steel wall. Hopefully with (2) on the top and one on the side it will hold for a good spell. Of course this will now be checked before every future trip. Just glad I didn't lose it

Mine sheared off and was also dangling while on the road. Only two screws as well . I used some 3/8 head self tappers and got them nice and tight. It bolted, but 100% better than before!
