Help a noobie - Used Seneca

Last month I purchased a 2005 Jayco Seneca 35GS. There are a couple buttons/switches on the dash that I do not know what they do. In the first pic, there is a rocker switch with a D on it with a line through it. Below that is a button. I can't figure out their purpose.

The second pic is a hole in the dash where there should be a gauge. What gauge am I missing?

ANY help would be appreciated. Click image for larger version

The button with the D is to lockout overdrive on the transmission.

The white push button is the Aux Start button. In the unlikely event your starter batteries were run down and needed the assistance of the coach batteries to start the engine you would press and hold the button while starting the engine.

The gauge is the transmission temperature. We do not have any other gauge where the hole is and perhaps a previous owner had installed something and then removed it or maybe a small child was playing with it and misplaced the blank cover.

Thanks for the reply. This all makes sense now. [emoji16]

The link to the first gen group is bad. Looks like part of it was replaced with "..."

Find the Community link on the top of page, select Social Groups, and Search for Seneca.

BTW; we saw your same post over in the MDT forums of DP. That wouldn't be considered cross-posting.

Also note that the button could be used the other way too. If your house batteries died and you cant start your generator, you can press that button down and then the chassis batteries will connect to the house and allow the generator to start.

I’ve used this button for the generator on a few of our coaches.... unfortunately the Seneca is the most inconvenient. The others rv’s had this button near the generator start button.
The Seneca requires two people to jump to start the generator since the buttons are so far apart.
