Installing Mudflaps - Class C
Looking to install a set of rear mudflaps.
I used to own a Jayco now I own a 2005 Monaco 31PBS Class C on a Ford E-450 chassis.
I still like this site very much as there is great comraderie here!
I installed the right side rear mudflap against rear portion of wheel well. I was able to use 4 sheet metal screws near top of mudflap. I would like to install 4 additional screws through a sheet metal bar that runs across mid section of mudflap. The 4 top screws were only threw the liner of wheel well....no penetration into something solid.
The only way to drill holes through metal bar is to remove wheels as there is not enough clearance between tire and rear wheel well where 4 screws would be installed.
Shall I attempt to jack up each side (one side at a time) or take it to a tire shop and see if they will let me install flaps (about 5 minutes per side once wheel is off)?
I have a 20 ton low profile bottle jack I purchased from Harbor Freight that I keep on board in the event I need to install spare tire due to a flat and there in no auto club service or no cell service.
I also store on board a 3/4" drive socket and extension with a pipe extension for leverage.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
