JayPlus

Hi Everyone: I tried this post in the new owners forum and one of you was kind enough to mention that I'd get better exposure here. My wife and I will take delivery of a 2013 Greyhawk 31DS sometime in May. It will be our first motorhome. We plan to use it to tow our boat to the various lakes in and around Montana. The dealer that I'm buying from has offered me a JayPlus plan that would pretty much cover the RV from bumper to bumper for an additional 5 years beyond the factory warranty. The cost is a little over $3000. Again, this is our first RV so I'm wondering if the plan is necessary &/or worth it. I'm sure that some of you have owned multiple motor homes and have had some experience with this JayPlus plan. I'd be very interested in any feedback that any you may have. I'm not in the habbit of buying extended warranties, but in the case of a motorhome is it worth it?
Thank you,
Warumbus

I don't have the "J PLUS", but I did buy the Route 66 plan 7 year bumper to bumper and have already gotten 1/2 of it back when the radiator went bad. It's like any other insurance plan. If you use it you win if you don't the insurance company wins.

Extended warrenties are a huge profit center for the dealers. We have purchased two New Greyhawks, and did not buy the Jayplus Plan either time. So far, so good.
I think a lot depends on an owner's willingness and/or ability to do some of the unforeseen troubleshooting/repairs.
