Kwikee electric 2 step

Hi everyone:

I have a 2008 Greyhawk 30 GS. Got it out of storage today. The electric step opened and closed easily and quietly. Drove the MH back to the house about 15 mins. Changed the oil in the Onan accidentally tripped the breaker by the oil fill tube and reset it. Went to the door and the step would not come down. I checked the breaker on the Onan again. The litghts tv etc works but not the steps. I tripped and reset the 12 volt disconnect as well as the inverter. Then I plugged in the shore power. Again everything works except the steps. I checked all the fuses and breakers in the panel. All good. I decided to pull the pin on the step motor and see if they were binding. They work smoothly. I put a magnet across the door switch and the entry lights go off and on correctly. I found 2 fuses on the step wiring. One a amp atc and the other an AGC 1 or 2 amp. Both checked good. The light under the step is working correctly.

Hopefully I am overlooking something simple. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
The Boltman

Can you disconnect the motor from the harness and directly apply 12VDC?
The good news is the motor is a common power window motor and very easy to change.

Thanks abarkl. That's good to know! We had a trip planned this weekend and I disconnected the step from the motor. I will check it when I get back home. Have a good day!!

Step problem - solved

Found a bad connection under the steps. ALL of the connections under the steps were terminated with closed end connectors (crunch caps to the stereo installers) which are not so good for wiring exposed to rain, road salt, etc. Went back with heat seal connectors and re worked the grounds. All is good and looking forward to the next outing!!!

Thanks for the help!!
