Are these small dehumidifiers worth installing to reduce the chances of mold in a class c motorhome. Any particular one that has worked well for you? I am concerned with condensation on the front window of my 29MVP.
Dehumidifier won't hurt anything, that's for sure. Me, I keep a roof vent open and some windows open to allow fresh air to constantly circulate through. That has worked well to keep moisture at bay and odors down.
The northwest is notorious for high humidity and rain and I go to a lot of effort to keep the humidity down in my MH while stored. I've purchased several dehumidifiers over the years. I don't pay much attention to brand but I do read Amazon reviews. Any dehumidifier that can collect 30 to 70 pints a day will work fine. Be aware that you'll probably have to run a heater along with it to satisfy it's temperature requirement. So it costs me a bit so keep the humidity down, but the big picture says I don't care as I have a lot of dough wrapped in the MH that I want to protect.
I keep a wifi hygrometer in the MH to monitor humidity and run my heater/dehumidifier as necessary using wifi outlets. I've found that the crystal based dehumidifiers (such as dri-z air) don't extract enough moister to make a difference in our enviroment.
