Radio Removal Jensen JRV215n

Does anyone know the steps to remove a Jensen JRV215n stereo from the dash of a Grayhawk 2016, if we have lost (of course!) the radio removal tools? I contacted ASA Electronics. They are going to replace the radio for us if we ship them the old one, but since it is a discontinued model, they have no replacement tools. (nor does anyone else we have contacted) They did tell me that we could try using hanging file hardware or thin tie wraps. Has anyone actually used either of these methods?

Thanks,

Holly

I have not on the model you listed, but did use the file hanger method on a 96 VW Passat. Took a little wrangling but got the job done.

Used Finger nail files before... if they need to have a tang, just filed it with a metal file.

Radio

If it is a class C E450 Ford you are talking about. You pull on the front dash and it will pop right off except it will not clear the steering column. Put the steering wheel all the way down and you should have enough room to get the radio out. The radio has four bolts in the front holding it in. Take out the bolt and the radio will come out. It is a tight fit to get it by the dash but it will come out.

Yes it's not as easy as it could be. The radio is bolted in. You have to pop off the whole front dash cover. The steering column will not allow the cover to be totally removed.

Thank You!

My husband was able to remove the screws as several of you suggested and the radio came right out!

I just pulled out the radio above our kichen area, using two steak knives to release the latches....
