States map question

For those of you with the maps on side of your rigs. Do you put a sticker on if you pass through the state or is at least an overnight stay required for you to apply the sticker?

However you want to do it. When I tracked it, I only put a sticker on a state that I spent one night in the camper.

State sticker

It is up to the individual - we spend at least 1 night but that's just our thing

It’s entirely up to you. Drive thru, sleep in, or actually set up camp in. It’s your map! Enjoy life the way you like. Happy travels.

I believe the rule states you must actually sleep in your RV in that state to put the sticker on the map. Driving through does not count.

Oh wait, that was our rule but I believe it is a good one.

Happy Trails.

It's your map. Do whatever you want.

It's your map but before I fill one in I at least visit aome of the sites, eat where some of the locals eat and get to know some of the history of the state. If someone asks me about a particular state I can smile and hopefully tell them what to expect around the next corner.

I consider it an overnight stay. But, do whatever is meaningful to you. It's all for fun.

Awesome feedback! I like the stopping to eat local idea. I'm a sucker for small town diners and food trucks.... I'm ready to hit the road. June can't get here soon enough!

You just gave me an idea for a new thread. We should do a thread on our favorite restaurants and diners that we have come across in our travels. It could be a great resource when others travel.

Fantastic idea.... I'm going to Yellowstone in June leaving from South Louisiana. I've traced the route on Google maps countless times already looking for the small towns we will pass through that probably have amazing hole in the wall places to eat

Maps or Flags

When my wife and I had an ocean cruising sailboat we collected 12x18 flags that we made into a string that we flew at rendezvous'. For this string we only used places we stayed overnight. It ran from Nova Scotia through the entire east coast and Bahamas. Then we got a Teardrop and covered everything we did on the boat (except the Bahamas) and a lot more. Last year we had to give up sailing and moved up to a Hummingbird after a month long trip to Yellowstone. We have a map and are following the same "rule of overnight".

It adds more enjoyment to camping and serves as an icebreaker at new campgrounds. Actually we have found that RV people are very similar to the cruising boat crowd, a lot of good and warm people.

Can one of you fine people explain to me where you find, fill in, and how you attach the US map that you have as part of your signatures?

Norty1, I was asking about the US maps on the signatures here on the Jayco Owners Forum. We have a large US map in the RV that we got from CW last year. Sorry if I was misleading.
